Wildlife Friendly Enterprise Network Expands Standards to Include Regenerative Agriculture

Wildlife Friendly Enterprise Network (WFEN) is proud to announce the expansion of its Global Standards with the introduction of a third section dedicated to Regenerative Agriculture. This new addition significantly reinforces our mission to protect biodiversity by integrating nature-positive approaches within production practices.

Since its foundation, WFEN has worked to protect key endangered species by promoting production practices that support and restore the ecosystems they are set in. However, biodiversity conservation does not stop at individual species. True ecosystem resilience requires protecting the entire web of life. By integrating regenerative agriculture principles into our standards, we acknowledge that restoring soil health, enhancing biodiversity, and supporting communities are essential for the long-term sustainability of both ecosystems and livelihoods.

Regenerative agriculture focuses on restoring and enhancing soil fertility, increasing biodiversity, and enhancing water management. These approaches include cover cropping, agroforestry, rotational grazing, and reduced soil inputs, all of which contribute to healthier ecosystems and more resilient local economies.

Certified Wildlife Friendly® enterprises are already leading the way in sustainable land management, and this new section will provide an additional framework for businesses committed to responsible agriculture. By aligning with regenerative principles, WFEN strengthens its commitment to conservation-driven economies, ensuring products benefit people, wildlife, and the planet.
