Wildlife Friendly Launches “People and Wildlife Connection Education Campaign” in Honor of Earth Day

In honor of Earth Day, the Wildlife Friendly Enterprise Network is launching the “People and Wildlife Connection Education Campaign” to consolidate best practices and innovative new approaches that support wildlife and people. The Wildlife Friendly Enterprise Network (WFEN) consolidates best practices from around the world in enterprise development that supports wildlife protection and monitoring.  Sharing these lessons with more enterprises in an organized education campaign is very much needed to successfully combine conservation and social and economic benefits for the people who protect wildlife and their habitats. WFEN is developing case studies from its Certified Wildlife Friendly™ companies as well as tools that will help these companies communicate their best practices to other groups working to co-exist with wildlife.

In support of this educational component, WFEN has the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), under the TransLinks Program. TRANSLINKS (Linking Natural Resources, Economic Growth and Good Governance) works with local, national and international partners to design and implement integrated activities that help ensure that rural people have the skills and capacity to manage natural resources sustainably and achieve equitable wealth creation under different environmental, social, and economic conditions. TransLinks is a partnership of The Wildlife Conservation Society, The Earth Institute, EnterpriseWorks/VITA, Forest Trends and The Land Tenure Center.
